yes, i remember

yes, i remember

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

"ocean allure" by garmash

the breeze was cool

the other side of the pillow cool

where had it been?

languishing at the corner

of sweet recollection and try to forget?

it whispered to me

            taunted me

then, satisfied it had been noticed

danced merrily from whence it came

yes, i remember

This can relate to so much in our life
more than the image painted,

and often we find ourselves remembering that place
or time, or someone that left an indelible mark on our heart.

This gave me reason to pause ........................................
and remember.....

Thank you my friend,

Trace

That line the other side of the pillow cool, is just so evocative it focuses the rest of the poem under glass. A distinctly superior effort from a consumate writer.

And I thank you, Ken.
It is these moments that we remember that make life worth living. Beautiful Lydi and "the other side of the pillow cool." I wished I had thought of that.

You are welcome Lydia.
I loved the graphic and yes it really goes with your words.... I must say i really swirled in the gentle breeze of your words. And it reminded me of the times which were long passed but unforgotten..... brilliantly expressed-the other side of the pillow. The unslept side...It kills to see it.But yet the sweet memories linger and we smile :).....Yes,i do remember. It is an elegant write.Couldn't expect less from you... :)

Thanks so much, Sophy. Have a wonderful day. Lydi**
breezes pass by many things, many people...and what rides on them?
thoughts, memories, scents?
and most breezes dance, either in joy or to forget.

Thank you for stopping by, Jacob. Lydi**
There is a self-punitive side to us that comes to surface in situations of amazing beauty and calm...the magical ocean brought with it such coolness and freshness yet it also served with it a whiff of past memories of a bygone love....it whispered, taunted and teased till the poetess admitted defeat. 'Yes, I remember' Your poems are so insightful, so gently soul searching Lydi...its a pleasure to learn something from you every time I read you.
