Anger

Anger

A Poem by MOON

So the silence rages in your head,

You believe all love is dead.

Diets of bitter seeds fed,

This is life this is where you have fled.

Around you on eggshells we tread

Lofty promises and laughter shred

Blackened you have taken to your bed.

Opening old wounds and the past long dead.

Here I come with glowing smiles all clad.

You bite your lip, you believe you led,

To the undoing, love crimson red.

Still to the demons of your mind you are wed.

I agree with Angelink, I think that last line is the most powerful and thus my favourite. I like that it takes the struggle with this emotion in to the spiritual realm, as well as having it displayed out in the world and within oneself. Very good write.

The whole poem is really good and I though it was all reflective of a mental state that is all too common. Many people are in this situation and I can identify with it to an extant. The last line sums it up so well.

Bitterness can be addictive. And we take a pride in our tears. Beautifully written.

A suggestion:
I like to read poems aloud, that's when the poem hits me, makes its home in my head. The use of 'clad' was a small jarring note in the otherwise perfect phonetic harmony.

Cheers,

it's hard to face and relinquish your demons. likewise, the past and bad memories. this expresses despair and isolation. great poem.

Powerful sentiments expressed throughout this vivid piece. It is a difficult feat to pull one from their demons even when others can see the beauty that is within their heart.
"Still to the demons of your mind you are wed."
Intense ending that completes this well-written poem.

The visualization in this is amazing

and the last line " Still to the demons of your mind you are wed." put so well.
they will always be there, it is just a matter of fighting your demons and never let them control you.

I really enjoyed this poem, particularly liked ' opening old wound and the past long dead'. It is hard to let go sometimes. I've also written a poem entitled ' anger' check it out - completely different and yet similar concept
