Chapter (10) NEW SCHOOL

Chapter (10) NEW SCHOOL

A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN

NEW SCHOOL.

Where are you son, My mums' voice cried,

I knew the time had come,

I did my best and tried to hide.

But she found me in my room.

Come on now we have to go

We have to buy your kit,

A  new school uniform  and shoes

We must make sure they fit.

Oh mum can't I just wear

My trainers, jeans and top

No, she says , your new school rules

Say that has got to stop.

In the store are lots of kids

With mothers all frustrated.

And while I try on my new school clothes

My mother sat and waited.

I tried to use the argument

That this was just unfair

Spending all her money

On clothes I'll hate to wear.

The new shoes were the worst of all

So tight and black and shiney

My mum said you'll get used to them

So please don't be so whiney

We left the shop with bags of stuff

Just so we'd look alike

I told her that, with all that dough

I could've bought a brand new bike.

The street is full of kids today

Dressed up to go to school

I look around , we're all the same

Now I don't feel such a fool.

The shoes still hurt though.

Ha ha very funny. Never had to wear a uniform. Unless you count adidas shoes, jeans with a white stripe, and a v neck shirt. LOL.

Lol. Now this is cute and brings back memories. Luckily I went to a public school and got out before they made all schools go to uniform policy, but I did have friends who went to private school, and they did not say nice things about their uniforms. My brother didn't get so lucky to escape the uniform policy, and he didn't care for it either. I did like staring at the shiny shoes though :p Well written. Thank you for sharing.

A humorous look from a boy's perspective. This was entertaining and fun to read!

School uniforms… I have no experience of school uniforms, personally. I think it might have been better if we'd had to wear uniforms. There's so much peer pressure over our wardrobes here; it's just awful. IDK if you heard anything about the Air Jordans (much sought after sneakers licensed and endorsed by basketball icon, Michael Jordan). But, when those shoes came out, it created a firestorm of torment, teasing, bullying, and violence. There were boys beaten up for those shoes. The ones who had them lorded it over those who didn't. The ones who didn't have them begged, borrowed, or stole to get them. A couple of boys were killed over those shoes.

It wasn't much better for girls. The way other girls made you feel for not having the right brand of jeans… you just can't imagine. I'd have much rather had a school uniform.

A fun but so realistic write on the new school and the uniforms or shoes children have to wear. I like how you share the emotions going through in their minds. Bravo................
