Can't Let Go

Can't Let Go

A Poem by Manda
"

She just cant let go of a love that didn't last. It hurts her to know that everything in her world is lost without him... Life isn't the same.

"
It's so hard
Letting go of you

Everything that he does
Reminds me of you

How can I forget you
And everything we had

I still have you locked in my heart
Along with some pictures and memories

How can I let go
When you're all I ever think about

Our love
Was so strong

But our past
Still holds so many memories

I can't sleep at night
Knowing you're not by my side

I loved you
But now I almost hate you

I wish I never met you
And I regret ever falling for you

You left me so emotional
And unable to breathe

But I just can't let go
No matter how hard I try

No matter how many tears that may fall
I just can't let go

My life isn't the same
Not since we said goodbye

My life used to be painted in color
But now it's in black and white

The sun never shines
And it's always so cold and dark

But no matter how different my life is
I just can't let go

I almost hated you
But I never stopped loving you

I just couldn't let go of you

Awww. You're fantastic at writing romantic poetry! I love almost the entire thing, except the fourth and fifth stanza seemed off because everything else was in couplets and those weren't, but it was necessary to express the emotions you needed to put across, so it's okay. Very well done.

I like the couplets and the rhythm of the poem. I agree with making the whole poem couplets it kinda symbolizes the two people never letting go, still loving etc. So that's pretty powerful. Great job.

The words of someone suffering great emotional torment. Very powerfully written.

I love this, my favorite lines being.

'My life used to be painted in color
But now it's in black and white'

I really liked how much emotion you obviously have in this poem. Amazing, as usual.

This is a great write.
"I almost hated you
But I never stopped loving you"
I know the feeling of that. It hurts.
The following helped me get through though;
"it's better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all"
"don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened"
Keep your head up.

I liked how honest and raw your emotions were in this write, and I really believed every word that you wrote. Your use of metaphors were creative and effective, and I especially liked the one about the colour versus the black/white. Your poem had a nice rhythm to it, making it an easy read. I speak for myself here, but this poem certainly epitomises many relationships that I've known or been in. Great write.
