A Gift of Love

A Gift of Love

A Poem by Marie
"

A poem of gratitude to God for all the blessings received

"

Walking down the street of memory
I arrive at yesteryear
where I have shared many a smile
and shed a silent tear
Life's encounters broke me
and brought me to my knees
Locked in a personal prison
I threw away the keys

Fate came and smiled upon me
like the warm summer sun
and I emerged from the darkness
A new life I begun
I learned many lessons
Life was kind to me
Genuine were the friends I made
as I sailed on life's deep sea

I gathered many treasures
gems of every hue
None greater than the blessings
which came out of the blue
and I gave thanks on bended knee
to my God up above
for all his wondrous blessings
The greatest of these being love
...

Now, Lovely Marie 💫

i ask, "What could be any more glorious than a gorgeously writ triple Octet poem about the greatest gift of all … love from above?"
Though, you've paid homage to God Above for your gifts of love, I think agnostics and atheists alike can feel and share this incomparably great golden treasure … for, I believe love truly knows no bounds.
Never, however, have I ever read a more perfectly penned poem that expresses the miracle of love experienced by a single individual … your joyous pen sings with the heart-thrumming rhythmic rhymes of your beautiful soul.
Tho' I cherish every line 'n verse, it is these enthralling lines that made my bardic heart dance:
"Fate came and smiled upon me
like the warm summer sun
and I emerged from the darkness
A new life [I'd] begun"

Colour me stunned 'n smitten, Dear Poetess, by virtue of sweet "love" radiating out from this unforgettably blissful, poetic moment! ⁓ Richard🎶

A very beautiful poem,
This is definitely me, doesn't matter the occasion, nor the reason in life being good or bad,
I pray for everything I have earned here in this lifetime...
Thank you for sharing such beautiful poem.
