Chance Meeting

Chance Meeting

A Poem by Dave

          A Chance Meeting
As in a dream, I walked the street

not knowing the girl that I would meet.

So engrossed in my I-Pod was I,

not noticing as she passed me by.

A hint of a breeze lifted her skirt,

a tiny squeal brought me to full alert.

Her hands were holding a billow of yellow,

revealing legs that could charm a fellow.

Embarrassed and red-faced as can be,

still, she smiled and she smiled at me.

There's nothing to be ashamed of I insisted,

her beauty, charms I couldn't have resisted.

We stood and chatted how I almost missed,

the chance to meet her, and then we kissed.

This is such a cute little poem/story!! I get so engrossed in my electronics, too, so there's probably a whole bunch of things in the world that I've missed. I love this poem!! 100/100

There's something about flyaway skirts in the wind that always hijacks my attention. I stand struck, literally. :)

Delightful Dave and this scenario with the skirt lifted in the wind reminds me of that icon the late Marilyn Monroe. That image of her is stuck on many a mind. lovely little write which flows and rhymes nicely. All good wishes to you across the pond. Keep well and safe.
