Bin Jargon

Bin Jargon

A Poem by Mockingbird

the radio blared static
sending skewed signals
to common circuits
diluting perceptions
as the waves took them
deeper into aphasic waters.

they spoke in bin jargon
cognition failure
was evident.
they couldn't hear
through the static
and their own mad ramblings.

they decided to wage war
against the enemy
though the battle
had already been decided.

they had no allies
they did away with us all.
we spoke a foreign frequency
so they left us behind.

armed with a broken radio
they went off on their crusade
to slay the encroaching demons
and return with the spoils.

that's the last anyone
has seen of them
except for the distant sound
of static
ramblings.

Makes me think back to a time when we could watch TV with just an antenna and no need for a digital converter. All those without cable are screwed. That's what comes to mind in this write, but there's something else. I am amazed at your knowledge of radio media and the politics thereof... do you work in that industry? If not, you should. The last line feels ominous, almost a warning... Nice work M. :) You make me smile.

I feel like intoxicated by the way you use words, this is a heavy stuff, I guess you are not just talking about war and radio signals but also about miscommunication or misunderstanding... I'm not sure.

Deep and moving fact of reality a lot can relate on, who faced this. I do adore, the brilliance of not being afraid to face reality your quill writes here. Just amazing work.

What a moving glimpse into understandings and misunderstandings.. language and loss... searching for connections but being held back at arms length. Static to some becomes sweet music to another who will listen... Powerful.

the poem's made in your inimitable style. the words are floating like a river but they are tense inside - as war itself. because the water is so troubled - as well as their minds. the first association was 'fox-hunting', although it's not a peaceful radio contest in this context. the piece is bright and thoughtful. it makes me think and take decisions. and though it seems the characters are giving signals sos, having been lost in the broadcast as some of us are lost in our lives, i wish they survived and their souls were saved.

very nice although you use very hard vocabulary items which made me need long time to understand the poem. you are challenging the language vocab.!
