World of Dreams

World of Dreams

A Poem by Lost in Wonderland

Just a little bit longer
Just a few feet farther
Just a couple more mountains to climb
Valleys to cross
And Clouds to jump over
Till I land in in this new place

Beyond the rainbow's end
Across the river bend
Up in the sky
Where I can get lost
In the madness and wonder
Dancing in starlight
Bathing in summer
Finally free from the Cage
Of this Earth, The chains
Of reality

Oh woe, yes woe to thee
Whose eyes are so blind
They cannot see
All the magic hiding
Just under the surface
Of science and reason
Speaking in rhymes
And clothed in the seasons

Oh what whimsy I shall find
In that place I hope to call mine
I shall not stop searching
For this place of Fairy Tales
And wishes and dreams
Ah what beauty there shall be
Nightmares will forever fade
Once I find this wonderful place

A world so alluring it lingers behind the reality of the mind, despite various claims of inexistence from science and reason gives this a mysterious aura, and I love it. Whether this world is imagination, or in some part in Canada, I'd love to be here.

I love this! Full of such emotion and wonder. I've read this at least 10 times already while trying to post this review. I don't know much about poetry, but I really love the words in the last four lines. This poem is so pretty!

Its nice to see positive emotion and thoughts crafted into poetry. Of positive emotions, hope is probably one of the hardest to define. So few poets can pull off uplifting for some reason, but you did it in an interesting way without having to fall on the traditional crutches of philosophical or ideological iconography. You make the reader want to share in your pleasant and whimsical dream from beginning to end, well done!

This poem reminds me of a song called Long Way Home by Steven Curtis Chapman.
