An Offspring of Hope

Winter breathes a stoic chill

diffusing my rain drenched soul
with insipid colors,

impregnating my muse
with an offspring

of hope.

Your imagination and lextraordinary anguage has created an alternative look for Spring, she's now become both Mother and Child. Perhaps the length of Winter will inspire us simple human beings to appreicate what's to come even more than we might have. We do 'taking forgranted' far, far too well.

Yours, listening to the rain hammering on the windows. xx

B the way, love that photograph!
Beautiful photography and a jewel of words. Love the metaphor Kelly. Yes, Spring is birth inwardly and outwardly. You truly captured this idea with your eloquent poem. :)

Thank you Kelly :)
We all need an offspring of hope Kelly, to help us get through whatever it is we need to get through. You have captured that glimmering of a possibilty of a maybe perfectly. Let's hope it blooms as well as your words :)

We can only hope. Thank you so much, Lorry!
This is a wonderful reminder that dreary as it may be at times, winter does not last forever. The hope of spring we can carry in our hearts until that day when the cold rain turns into warm spring showers. I love the images you have created and your choice of words just roll off the tongue when read aloud. Just lovely!

And you as well. Reading your poetry is always a joy.
no pain no gain eh!? ;) sharp contrast in thoughts and feelings for me ...my winter is long gone down here in Arkansas but i sure do remember the cold of SD all the way to blizzards in Easter ..this is a very disappointing time when that happens ... so i love the turn and the language you use ...hope is what it is eh!? warm hugs Kelly :)

ps. "impregnating" is very powerful image and makes the hope that much more assured ..nice stuff my friend!

It does have an affect on your muse as well as your soul, doesn't it, Pete? Inhale deeply my friend... read more
Your muse must be infused with something, Kelly. This is wonderful! You know I do not feel the chill of winter here in South Florida, but I remember NJ winters that made me feel this one. Lydi**
