even when words don't find you, thoughts will. I love Paper Airplanes - it reminded me of my childhood and brought back those wonderful memories to the fore. a simple, honest write that captures the poet's mind. I like the expression here and memories it evoked, and thanks for sharing this, Kelly.

My pleasure, Abhilash. Love having you here! Thank you!
And yet we never learn not to scrunch them up so that they can fly away one day, albeit not in the way we thought.
Perhaps moving your basket to the other end of the room would help, unless of course it's on your laptop, where no matter whether you place one piece of paper or a thousand it always shows as full.
I know the feeling well. That feeling where you have to smile at yourself when you don't even like rhyme, but can only find sasquatch to go with patch!
When that happens I just go for a nap. Thank goodness I still work from home most days! 😃

Lol, a nap does a body good. That's my moto! Thank you, Lorry!
This reminds me of my "missing muse" poem
Something about fishing. 😆
It's kinda funny, l seem to write better with a keyboard, than pen and paper.
But, l have worn out many a pencil lead trying to make something make sense.
I enjoyed this poem alot.
Hey, nobody says you can't make airplanes with writing on them.
Wrest your writing wrist a while...

It gives it better height and loftiness, I would think. A little note on aviation, which I know nothing about! Oh well, thanks so much, Trace!
The wastebasket is probably catching poems that could have or should have been.
Sorry you threw them away.
Don't tell anybody this, but I hit a teacher with a paper airplane once. He didn't know I did it, but he was a Carmelite priest, my history teacher at Joliet Catholic...maybe his being a priest is why I still feel guilty about that.

I took notes from what I could still make use of, and made sure what was left wasn't legible. I didn't want anyone copying my stuff. Oh, and your secret's safe with me, about hitting a teacher with a paper airplane. I've got to confess though, it made me laugh out loud!! Thanks, J!
Kelly,
My, oh, my... that would be me... and is why I use my computer... But WHAT a delightful bit of what makes poetry high art!

I wrote everything down when I first started writing, then I typed it out. One of these days I'll invest in a paper shredder. Then no more airplanes! Thanks Vol!

I stuck with a pen for a long time before I got a computer with Microsoft works on it. When they canceled that fine, simple program I bought a new computer with Corel's "WordPerfect"
disaster, it never was very compatable with windows which neventually cost me anA in a modern literature course...still mad about that!
Now I add notes at the bottom and when I'm ready to save I cut them out.
Anyway, The means is nothing to the final product even if my "purest" gene doesn't like it.
