I hope that it's not a true story, though the world is full of them, You hear about it everyday, specially teenagers who face lots of hardships with no helping hand, lost in this world and lost their dreams, that's really sad.. She only wanted to Fly... be free like the bird.

Yes.. a true tale I'm afraid and you are so right.. it happens far too often...
I cannot imagine what goes through a person's mind during those last few moments of life. Fear, relief, regret, or simply a belief there was no other way; all that and more perhaps.
Either way, the loss is saddening; the guilt of those left behind to wonder, if only, incalculable.

One of my much-abused older sisters (with every reason to fly), described what went thru her mind as she was driving along, say, over a highway overpass, & simply being overcome, craving to end the pain & fly. She described it exactly as you do here, her fond delusion which prettied up what would be a very ugly ending (((SHRUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Jeez.. thanks for commenting on these words Margie.. I really am most grateful to you... x
How heartbreaking to see such senseless loss. Perhaps a concerned friend, family member or even stranger might have diverted her actions with just a few kind words. May her soul find peace.
So sad and sorry to hear it's true. Too much of it happening around here too. But you penned it in a way that instead of tears, there were no fears, just lift off to her destiny. Wish someone could have been there in her moment of need, for she thought her need was just to be free of what sent her there in the first place.

thank you for considering these words, it really is appreciated...
Heart just flipped when I read these lines. It happens and reminds me of cases nearer to home where youngsters high on drugs have jumped from tall buildings thinking they would sprout wings. Mental illness in all its forms is sadly on the increase and touches all of us one way or another. Such a sad read, but so very topical and so well conveyed Neville.
