Lemon Lined Streets

Lemon Lined Streets

A Poem by Neville

Lemon Lined Streets

I just thought you might

   like to know,

I still find riding through

all these

  narrow cobbled streets,

each one lined

both sides, with lemon

trees and at speed

on a borrowed red bicycle

as exhilarating

today as ever I did, when

we were both

still naïve and young lovers ..

Ah living and feeling young is a freedom all in itself. Doing things without caring what others may think and allowing ourselves pure childish joy is exhilarating. I love that you used a color for the bicycle and chose red. It makes it stand out in the mind!!

I ran around the bookstore like a big kid yesterday and was even carrying around squish mallows and wearing a Harry Potter sorting hat lol it was indeed a joyful day.

Many thank you's Arundass .. I am so pleased :)
Seeing scenes of the past can rehash that past in our minds, which isn't always a pleasant experience. Here, however, it seems to have been just that. Cherish it.

How very special you have made this page Pat and gently so .. Warmly, Neville
Love the idea of oldies acting like kids:) Never let that inner child stay hidden. Borrowed red bicycles ridden at speed down narrow cobbled streets. That could be asking for trouble. Red for danger. I appreciated the lemon trees. They have much symbolism and spirituality for me. Lemon for innocence, cleansing etc. So much packed into a short poem. Good mane Neville.

Ah nostalgia. Especially when as I was stoned at the time.
Seriously this is a gentle breeze of a poem.
