Mehdi The Braveheart( An Acrostic)

An Acrostic for Mehdi Yarrahi, the prisoned Iranian singer who stands beside his people against the tyrannical regime.

Mehdi has no fear of being arrested

Even when the authorities are not impressed

He stands with Iranian women who are oppressed

Defying the norms that keep them suppressed

In his songs, he speaks his mind and expresses his protest

Yarrahi is not afraid to challenge the status quo

Although he knows the risks and dangers he might undergo

Raising his voice for justice and freedom, he is a hero

Reaching out to millions of people through his music and video

And inspiring them to fight for their rights and dignity, he is a pro

He doesn't care what these beasts say who try to silence him so

It is brave of him to sing about what he believes and let the world know

This is such a fine acrostic - plus is introduced with/by photos and information for those of us who know little or nothing of Mehdi. Thank you for that.

What a courageous man via lyrics and music! So much needs to be vitally sorted in parts of our world, especially in that area. Women there and elsewhere are treated like third rate citizens, . YET they are the mothers of past centuries. Many thanks to you too for doing what you have: stand tall and determined.

Thank you for all the kind words of yours. Mehdi is not a man of show-off. He really dedicated his life,his income and his freedom to people. He has been imprisoned for about a month and it continues......
As I've said before, Hijab is not an important issue compared to sanctons,disasterd economy and numerous of other problems in Iran. Since the day our king left the country, mullahs have been eating the blood of people here like a vampire. The once so called "heaven of Asia" is now nothing but a hell. Both men and women are suffering. But what can we do? Nothing.......

Silence has no time. Becomes a void where oppression can fester. I really like how you used a basic form to write about a complex issue. It's hard for a western mind to understand the plight of women in the middle east. I'm glad it seems to be changing as agonizingly slow as it does. That would be nice if Mehdi could somehow read your tribute.

And Hijab is only one of the endless problems in the middle-east. Idiot rulers and also the benefit of foreign governments along with the unaware people,makes the situation as it is today.
Mehdi is still in prison. I wish he come out of the damn prison healthy.
