Many Moons Later

Many Moons Later

A Poem by Alskar

Of all cosmic wastes
And divine entities
I catch your thoughts
And listen not to
Spellbound notions
Of tropic nightly fancy
But to doubt.
Time is our supernova.
A spark in a shroud
Of shattered glass.
Burn for a sunny second
Then collapse.
Your hand is but a
Star on earth, to the sky.
And fingers atoms to
The breathing horizon.
They are my universe.
And yet, as many moons ago
They lose grip.
And my Saturn eyes freeze.

Some of the lines cut off too suddenly, but other than that this is very nice!

A spark in a shroud of broken glass ~ captures the emotion of pain perfectly, how words or even actions cut us deep and affect us long after our deaths. Your use of metaphor is amazingly done and powerfully penned. Keep em' coming

"Burn for a sunny second/Then collapse."
The supernova of bonds is tragic, I agree. Time is a murderer. I pity the exploded entity whom this was directed towards.

Great motif for musing on our human significance and self-doubt. Great rhythm and structure as well. I really enjoyed reading this!

I agree with Michael of Gilead. I love your use of celestial metaphors throughout this poem. It was short and to the point, and I caught the whole thing clearly.

Beautiful poem.
