Death and Realization

Death and Realization

A Poem by Olumegbon
"

A loss can do so much to a person

"
Saw real tears at the casket's side,
No lies,
A brother didn't wish to die,
But heaven's gate waited impatiently,
So he had no choice but to leave,
That day our eyes turned red,
Our lungs filled with nature's gift,
Each man choked on his words,
Had to keep the weak part a secret,
His mother's wailing made our ears go sore,
What will his siblings be told?
First time an answer won't make sense,
That moment,
The world had no meaning,
For vanity was our only pursuit,
And my heart broke,
As sorrow wrapped me,
It's time for me to remain awake,
And make memories instead.

Beautiful poem. Poetry is therapeutic and can aid healing. But some of our grief always remains. Hopefully it lessens with time.
Looking forward to reading more from you.

Yes I am, thanks alot
You captured me from the first line. "Saw real tears at the casket's side" Beautifully put. And your poem really spoke to me in the sense that when we meet death, be it someone else or ourselves, suddenly, life means so much to us and we kind of put aside all of our human characteristics like "vanity" and "lies". Because in death, none of that matters. I really enjoyed reading this poem and capturing a little part of you in it. It was beautifully written and I am very sorry for your loss, whomever you lost. It is never easy losing a loved one. Be it to death or otherwise. Loss is difficult. I hope that you know that whoever you lost is still with you and forever will be because, like you said at the end of your poem, the people we lose live in memory. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate
So sad when friends/brothers die. It does not seem natural to us and is even more unnatural for a parent. You hint around at a secret here that is not revealed. That is fine, but it does hint at a mystery and unnatural cause of death.
Overall a very well thought out piece. Very sad, with the overtones of grief and heartache splashed with confusion.

You are welcome.
Amazing piece, we all go through this at some point in our lives and we all handle it a bit differently. Even though they have died, they will continue to live on in other peoples memories.

People handle the loss of a loved one in their own way on their own time. A part of of them also dies until they are ready to make memories once again ... Wonderfull written!
