I

I

A Chapter by Orahemae December

Lilac surrounds me

As I lay on this four post.

Stuck in m purple dungeon

While the last of the festivities begin.

5          Scarlett, my being of radiant passion,

Ascends my seeing door.

My neighbor and friend says,

“Sara, my shy sister,

Are you still grounded?

10        I want to ask, if you would like,

For you to join me tonight.

Eric Lush, the girl’s eyed-teen,

Throws a bash of wondrous sorts.

Come with me. Join my love,

15        My Jay, and come to the party

Of summer’s end. Christopher,

I’ve heard, our school-friend and jock,

Will join us on the lighted white sand.

Please my friend, say yes.”

20        I say to her with lowered head

“I fear, my dear, that I can not,

My mom you see, though loving and kind,

Will just not allow.  I, you see,

Am grounded here until this week’s end.”

25        “Silly Sara, this seeing-door,

My entrance of choice, will now be,

For you my friend, your ever longing escape.”

My spirits rose as I realize this

Alas she is right my sorrow’s end

30        Has once again come from my soul-savior.
