A Chapter by Orahemae December

The midnight-maiden shining bright

On the sea’s shore.  Crystal-grains

Reflect the night, the light, the moon,

The fire bright, the growing-light,

35        Moves as one with the tide.

Tonight my school, my friends, my life

Shall dance away till morning sight.

I find him there in the center of things,

This great, magnificent, party-giver.

40        This Eric-of-awe waves me over

To be friend b his side, but

Not before my Chris, my friend

Stops me in my path. Christopher

Both tall and lean and wanted far and wide,

45        Asks for my hand in the swaying-sorts.

Eric, himself gorgeous and strong, comes

Up to our chat with warm arm

To brace me from the cold.

I tell my friend, my Christopher,

50        That for tonight his partner I am not.

I follow m host hand in hand

To the shack on far off coast.

The shack is filled with riders-of-waves

And savers-of-life on every capable wall.

55        He holds me close on padded ground

But here I don’t know why.  I’ve never

Known him in my life to show me such display.

He kisses me sweetly on jaw-line first,

Harder as times passed.  I pushed him off

60        To tell him not, but to him it was

Just a game.  He’d push and pull

His body taunt, while I just cringe and cry.

When he was through with his dastardly-deeds,

He left me be in that haunting-house of w****s.

65        I lay there still as still can be

Hoping just to die, but when my beggars-wish

Was not, I left that horrid-place-of-sin.
