A Life In FilmA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenOur lives are directed from somewhere by someone!A Life In Film
In staggering, patchwork movie reels my life plays out. Not the main feature but some art house creation screened in a dingy cold, bare basement.
At least I had the lead role, the romantic hero who gets, but loses the girl, time and bloody time again, as scriptwriters chopped and changed.
But the director was no Nolan, Bergman or Lumet as he misinterpreted the script and led his actors to the infamy of cinematic collapse.
And the producers, The Studio, the editor, they all had their say, leaving me a jobbing actor, forgotten and unemployed on the cutting room floor
