Little Red Haired Boy

Little Red Haired Boy

A Poem by Dara

The night was filled with magic

all the animals danced for joy

when God made you my little red haired boy.

You have your mommy’s lips and daddy’s hair

but are one in a million, none can compare.

Your eyes like Grandpa's, so deep and blue

were he still here he would cherish you.

May angels hover as you sleep at night

and guard and protect you

with all their might.

I wrote this poem for my new grandson who is two weeks old. What a joy to have two grandchildren born in the same year. His Grandpa, who passed away two years ago, was named 'James' hence the song. The caption photo is of Baby Boy Brems courtesy of Jennifer Hill Photography.
