Left BehindA Poem by DaraMy son’s mother-in-law has only hours to live. Writing about her helps relieve some of the pain of losing her. ‘Sister Moon’ is in reference to the poem I once wrote about her.
Left behind in the wake
Of your exuberant personality Leaving me the only living Grandparent around… I grieve for the loss of Your presence I grieve for the children And grandchildren who Will daily mourn you who will cry out And keep asking ‘Why?’ My shoulders cannot bear The weight of trying to Fill the void your passing Will create and yet I Must try. Dear ‘Sister Moon’ You are gone too soon But Heaven will be A better place With you in it. © 2024 DaraReviews
