Romancing a Kettle of Tea

Romancing a Kettle of Tea

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Sitting in a country garden with Hollyhocks and vintage Roses, My lover and I romance a Kettle of Tea...

"

China cups with rosebuds...

Tea brewed with tenderness

lemon and honey sweetness...

Charm of a portrait painted...

Beautiful lady with auburn hair

Enchanting romance in the air...

Scented candles burning...

Lovers dance across the floor

Expressions of Je t'adore...

Timeless rhapsodies persuade...

Soothing embraces of amour

Biscuits with orange marmalade...

Breezes from another world...

Begin to whisper words of desire

A cup of tea and pleasant reverie...

"Romancing a Kettle of Tea"
Patricia Wedel,
Between the "rosebuds, tea brewed with tenderness, lemon and honey sweetness"I wanted to rejoice in this lovely morning breakfast with a familiar and special someone. "Biscuits with orange marmalade... I found this line to be symbolic and a lead in to romance beautiful. Also "Breezes from another world..."
It flows, it rhythms.
Blessings, and I hope you may enjoy more of these moments.

I searched what Je t'dore meant. Then I wasn't distracted by it. Then read it again and enjoyed how your unique structure let your love flow through it. I enjoy rhyming poetry.

you changed the rhyme scheme in the 4th verse and stretched the rhyming in the closing line ..the flow is not interrupted and i found that intellectually intriguing .. the very best tea comes from a conscientiously ended kettle ;) not quite the seriousness of the Japanese Tea Ceremony but the reverence of the brew ... in the first line i kept wanting to read rose hips .. which took me back to the 60's in Taos, NM ..a time of wonderment, love peace and flowers and ....rose hips tea ;)
both my mom and my g-ma had just those painted china cups .. so delicate .. the only thing i do not like about this poem is that i missed the party Alice! :)

This is how life and emotion should be, this is how poetry should make a reader feel: calm, happy and -swept into another time and place. Your words could so easily become a beautiful painting!
