Hummingbird nesting.

Hummingbird nesting.

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Dreams of a world where hummers have secret hide-a-ways.

"
Hummers build their nests from October to early June

looking for a perfect thimble design embedded on a

clothesline or in an  obscure bed of bluebells where

butterflies feed on honeysuckle vines...

Delicate and intelligent... they reminence about their plans

for Christmas lights where fireflies dance against a

stormy sky upon a Midnight clear...

Ghosts and goblins gather for trick or treat

protecting the nests from predators...

as the hummers provide warmth and caring for their brood.

Autumn slides into winter when we settle down for cosy nights and delights of togetherness. Warmth comes through here Pat despite winter being a season of coldness and lack of colour. Love how your little avian friends and nature weave a silken thread through these lovely thoughts. Warm wishes from me to you with all that lies before you in the coming months. So visual is your work. You paint pictures in my mind.

Never seen a hummingbird nesting, reads so lovely.. plus, an early but welcome thoughts of Christmas. whether same or different this year.. will still hold the love for your or our darlings, petal. Your words always praise the outdoor world, the All Around is always that much more beautiful when in your hands. A beautiful poem, '.. lights where fireflies dance against a

dear folks... we are preparing our Nests
for the chilly days of Autumn where votes are cast
recklessly with hopes and prayers of sleigh bells
and the sounds of a new beginning when Old Saint Nick
will once again open his Bag of possibilities. gently, Pat
