Yellow Tulips kissed by the Sun

Yellow Tulips kissed by the Sun

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

Born on April 14  as Tulips touch the golden Sun

with melodies of the Oceans ebb and flow...

An Emerald Mermaid with splashing blue eyes

charms Sailors who dream of encounters

 of romantic rendezvous rapture...

(dedicated to a Poetess who cruises the Oceans)

Dear Pat I hope this dedication reaches the eyes of the poet who captures sailors. I love tulips and your posted image is so uplifting. Beautiful golden petals. Love them. I have a bunch of purple ones next to me. A gift from my grandson who is such a thoughtful young man. He knows how to lift spirits. Love across the waves.

What a coincidence I picked this out of my reading library the day before the cherished birthday! One of my nephews was born on April 14, 1984. I don't know & can't tell by your reviews, but I get a feeling this might've been written for Lydia, lover of cruises. I've never had a wish to go on a cruise, but there are two different kinds of cruises in my new book & I had to use my imagination big time to write about something I never experienced or even thought about. I definitely believe the sailors would look twice or maybe three times to see a mermaid poetess who writes of romantic sensuality like nobody else at the cafe! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank goodness for people like you, Pat, lovers of plants floral or otherwise.. you spread wonderful tales about them, reminding us of their historic origins. Seems almost all flowers have a extraordinary often inspiring and/or fascinating past. Tulips of course with their upright nature and selection of created colours are beautiful + no wonder your favourites, dear petal.. Thank you so much for sharing.. xx

I am not a sailor, so I am safe with the tulips...
but when two lips meet mine... I am a goner in spring or any season.
I lose my reason.
another beautiful snapshot you present.

our daffodils are in bloom and the tulips are up ... always a cool time of year. Mermaids of myth and movie .. I've only seen their good side .. except in Pirates of the Caribbean series .. cant remember which one... L3 and 4 Mermaids being used twice weakens it for me ... "...splashing blue eyes" is one of those things one wishes to have thought of it .. the romance of the sea, sailors and alluring mermaids is a strong frame work says i ... the brevity of this poem lets me dapple it with my own sparked imagination in between those few packed lines
