A lot of empty promises and heartbreak made this beautiful piece

You said I was your angel 

A treasure in the dark. 

I thought I was your everything 

And that I'd made my mark. 

You took my heart and crushed it, 

This torture can't be true. 

Still, when i think of happiness- 

I only think of you. 

A tiny part of what we had. 

In everything i see. 

It hurts to see you with her. 

With anyone but me. 

I thought i was your angel, 

A treasure in the dark. 

I'd kill to be your everything. 

Can't stand to be apart. 

I'm sure that it was love, 

I couldn't stop but fall. 

Pretty lies and empty words, 

Now I'm nothing at all.

I love that. Good rhymes and powerful. I think the last line would fit better with the rhythm if you swap over the words so it says "I'm nothing now at all" ... then its just as short but it has the same rhythm as the end lines of the other stanzas. Hope your pain subsided. Definitely keep writing.

One can't help but feel betrayed, when the one you loved, finds someone new ... It is like a knife deep in your heart when you see them happy and in love.

Instead of holding on to those happy moments, we seek to erase it all by convincing ourselves it meant nothing to them. We try our best to erase their initials from our hearts when instead, we should be looking ahead, to the one that was truly meant for us.

Such a deep and emotional poem. Makes you wonder, what is harder, finding love ... or keeping it.

I have to admit, the last stanza would be served better being split in two.

But all said and told, such a deep and emotional poem, it's message clear and unmistakable, tugging at one's heartstrings.

By all means! Keep writing! Let us fill the world with emotion, speaking the minds of those who's hearts are too heavy to do so themselves.

Read my mind like an open book! I think us all..as humans should just stop loving!! Because it hurts so much hey :( We should all just live with one emotion :D (And for me...that's happiness) But yeah buddy, thank you so much for those lovely words and for reviewing my work.
