Humanly speaking and gender aside for the moment, it is this line that sucks one in: "..To you, my dearest poet.." How, can one NOT continue reading? Oh, the alure and promise of things to come. (No pun intended.) Of course you know the problem is that the context and the vocabulary will age and wither with time. One hundred years from now someone (or something) may read or attempt a translation and phrases such as "with every click of the mouse" may leave them baffled. "Mouse - a small mammal. Click - a sonic vibration resembling a damped sine wave with duration in the millisecond range." Time traveling now... a colonial house, your parents, and we sharing a bed with a board running down the middle - a board of distance and wires. Yet, it cannot impede those electric pheremones and we remain; our thoughts in the marketplace of love, speaking to the vendor, "I’ll have a loaf of bread and some internet love."

Fun poem. I don't get internet romance. If I can't touch her, there's no romance. I was in the Marine Corps, into body building and used to love to dance. Go figure, right?

LOL … psst … I kind of agree. Thank you, Baby.
Fantasy love, now available on the internet - pretty much what all little girls grew up with - Prince Charming and all that stuff. Reality ages a person... so maybe the cyber-affection is not so bad after all... :)

there are days when the interwebs are more fulfilling than the outerwebs.

As Douglas Coupland says … the internet is the real world:) Thank you, Tammy:)
Sometimes, living in a world of fantasy is better than the alternatives offered; dealing with reality. Still, we have to awaken at some point and face reality. We look it dead squarely in the eye, and say, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm going to take this anymore!" Then we find reality is much easier dealt with.

Nicely done, Pryde...

No problem, Pryde. You are very welcome. It's a very powerfully written poem.

It can be just as real as seeing the person face to face, only more intense because its the emotions you feed off of.
It can break a heart, make you sigh, fall in love and intensify the need to hold the other. But with internet love the physical part of a relationship is missing and I think that emotions try and fill that void.

So yes internet love is stronger in that respect then the "normal" kind of love.

Thank you, Ron. I think the heart doesn't know the difference, that is for sure:)

I think your right Pryde.
This is so very relevant in this digital age we are in. I'm in a 6 year relationship that began as "Internet Love."
