For In The Name Of My Son

For In The Name Of My Son

A Poem by Joseph - Michael
"

For some strange reasons, I wrote this for my son, Jonathan Matthew, as a Christmas gift of 2007 for him when he was only 2 at that time. But he will read it when he get older.

"

Out Of All Of My Whole Entire Life

I've Never Really Believed In The Miracle At All

Not Even Half Close Enough To Believe In The Light

Until The Day You Were Born That Had Left Me Breathless

The First Look At You;

The First Smell Of You;

The First Sound From You;

The First Touch On You;

Everything About Your First Appearance Had Left Me Speechless

That Day You Were Born, You've Became My True Salvation

I've Never Knew That There Are So Much Joy

All From Just Only One Simple Little Boy

I Fell In Love After The Fact That You're Already My Son

Whenever You're Around, I've Become So Grateful

You've Given Me So Much Of The Pleasant

As You're My Natual Drug Of Anti-Depressant

The Fact Of Having You As My Son, I'm So Thankful

I Don't Know What I Would Do Without You

And I Wouldn't Dare To Think About It For A Moment

Only To Think And Remember About Our Times Together

And To Believe Of What's The Best For You

I Was Never Taught How To Be Your Father

Except For You

You've Taught Me How To Be Your Father

As Much As I'm Teaching You To Be My Son

I Always Will Be Your Best Friend

Yes, I May Be Your Father;

Yet, I Always Will Be Your Teacher

Yes, I May Be Your Mentor;

Yet, I Always Will Be Your Protector

I Was Once Nobody's Gladiator, But Now I'm Your Protector

I Always Will Be There For You All The Way To The End

Only Just For Your Life;

Only Just For Your Love;

Only Just For Your Legacy;

Altogether In Order To Build Up Your Own Personal Legend

I'll Always Will Be Your Own Personal Gargoyle;

The Perfect Type Of The Kind To Be Your Guardian

And There's Nothing In This World Will Take Us Apart

And Nothing Will Stop The True Beatings Of Our Hearts

At Any Costs; At All Costs; No Matter What;

My Ultimate Sacrifice Is For Your Salvation

That's My Promise Toward You

Not Just Because I'm Your Father,

Only Because I Love You Within All Of My Heart And Soul

touchy, so deeply touchy..you really did pour your heart out my friend and it's really nice to see a father's love testimony to his son. the flow is'nt too smooth(just an unecessary observation :-) ) but the lines add up to a master piece. it has this energy radiating from it that makes one want to go out, call his child,hug him/her and say "i love you"

Would that all fathers could show this kind of affection toward their sons. I hope that despite all the things that are to come from your boy that you will not only be his protector, but also understand him. Times will come when you just won't recognize your son anymore, make the effort to get to know him once more. He'll shy away from you, but in the end he'll respect and love you more because of it.

beautiful. there is nothing stronger and more fulfilling than love for and from our children.
"I Was Once Nobody's Gladiator, But Now I'm Your Protector" very powerful lines...we do ANYTHING for our children w/o a moment's hesitation. I truly was touched by this writing, your love for your son comes shining through!

Awwwww!
So touching!
I have to tell the truth,
I didn't think I would like this poem so much,
but I do.
Your son is as lucky as they come.

Your love for your son pours down this page with a passion only God knows how to bestow! Very inspirational piece of your heart here. I am sure you will be a fine protector and father to your boy. Nice to meet your work, LLB

May I make a suggestion? Print this out on paper...roll it up, fold it up, I don't care...put it away somewhere...marked "For My Son"....then give it to him when he's older, about 14 or so.
Print up several copies and do the same thing....again and again, give it to him at different stages of his life....leave a copy with your will.....

In life, sometimes the most precious moments are forgotten...not because they are meant to be...but because of the task of 'living and surviving' . Do this....believe me, you both will be glad you did.

Such beautiful, heartfelt words. You MUST always re-share them with your son. I am confident you will live your life by these words.

You have touched my heart by the joy you share with your son.

This is a beautiful tribute to your little boy Joe..I would have it printed out and framed for him when he is older..He will cherish it..I think it is the other way around..the little guy is "YOUR" salvation..prayers and God's blessings.....Valentine

This was astounding. I have no doubt that your son will be thrilled to find out that you wrote this for him and at the age of two! He is lucky to have a father that cares about him so much, because I often see fathers who would rather go out drinking than take care of their child. It's depressing.

A friend of mine and his wife recently had a baby boy. I don't think I've seen two people that happy in my entire life. I hope to one day enjoy the feeling that my friends and yourself experience.
