"Hello!" (suggestive)

"Hello!" (suggestive)

A Poem by Richard🖌

"

      I remember best …

your breath
kissing my skin

on autumn nights,

when your soft voice

quilted my dreams

with sighs.

It wasn’t so long ago …

when we dreamed together.

Even our eyes were twins,

mirroring wildflowers

in the meadows,

our laughter …

holding hands with the stars.

Countless trips to The Bistro

satisfied our stomachs …

chili con queso with chips

and margaritas,

the food of those who have

too little time to eat,

too little time to be distracted

from the religion
      of
making-love.

Praying  …

for just one more moment,

one more chance to know

the texture of your tongue,

the mystery of your

“I want you” eyes.

Even now …

I worship your mouth,

giving thanks to the gods,

for gifting me you,

for making me more

than I would have been

if your soft, sweet lips

had never whispered,

   "

Hello!"

Oh my goodness Richard ...
I have read all the Free Verse poems you sent me and now I am going back over them and leaving reviews...
They are all wonderful, but for some reason this one speaks to me. It has given me chills each time I have read it.
I believe everyone wants to have those beautiful moments...but in my experience with people I find that few ever reach that feeling in their lifetime... Sad but true. Perhaps some experience a bit of this love "feeling" when they are first experiencing love but probably not again. To find this quality of a life partner where deep love stays with you...forever, is fantastic. To actually step out of oneself and be open enough to let go is not easy. Oh gosh, sorry I am getting too philosophical...
Just want to say I loved it,
Lisa

Many grateful thanks, Marcus! ⁓ Richard
How one can evolve from a simple greeting "hello" and yet intimidating too from fear of rejection. A lovely flowing write!

so much would never happen without that first 'hello'...you create such a vivid picture of being in love, Richard...one could easily place themselves at a table in that bistro to see you both gazing into each other's eyes...a gorgeous write, my friend

This is beautiful. I would graciously love to say hello. But then again you must know my eyes have already spoken what my lips have yet to say. Wonderful words of alluring come hithers. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

A most beautiful reply to my poem, "Say Hello", even if I am indulging myself!

The verse about the bistro was it for me...
"too little time to eat,
too little time to be distracted
from the religion
of making-love."

I must have this in my library for further swooning, and melting. Incredible, Richard!
