EEK!

EEK!

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

A short list of possible phobias

"
I'm afraid of heights -
Don't make me go up there!
I'm scared of closed-in places -
I might run out of air.
I fear big dogs that bark quite loud
And bees and wasps cause pain,
I don't trust roller coasters,
I will not get on a plane.
Don't try to get me on a boat -
There's water all around!
I'm adverse to getting seasick,
And I worry that I'll drown.
So much apprehension
To cause me all this woe;
I suppose that fear itself
Is my biggest foe.

if you watch the gazelle standing in the tall grass with its kin, it's every gesture is fear-laden...most creatures live the edge of fright and flight...to be afraid of all the things you are afraid of would make good sense to any passing goat or mynabird

I suppose that is true - fear in nature is necessary for survival. Thank you for reading.
Spiders, snakes , roaches that fly, ghosts, demons and shaky ladders up high. Ha! KeelyJane is still on my mind! Angi~

Um... ok. LOL! Though, I call mayonnaise "white death", so I guess it's the same thing...
I think the mainstream media drives many of the fears we have now. Is there anything they tell us not to be afraid of anymore?

I really liked this one, Rita. It has a wonderful flow to it. :)

This is just delightful! Very good rhymes, too. Fear itself--yes, that's often the problem.

Thank you, Samuel!
The exposure of your fears almost has a happy or humorous tone to it. This flows well and the rhyming flows as well. Great job.
