Flight of Fancy

Inside myself
Safe, surrounded, secure 
yet oddly unsure 
which is why I stay 
waiting for a wish 
to whisk me away

But dreams are daunting
When blocked from the light of day
Open air flights of fancy - 
that's where we truly soar

I find flights of fancy pretty safe...they won't hurt me.
It is like Richard Wilbur discussed in his poem "Mind"---
"a graceful error may correct the cave"--
if we think outside the box, we may get there, somewhere, anywhere but here.
and that might not be a bad thing.
