Proverb 31:25

Proverb 31:25

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

She wears her strength, a hero’s cloak

On Boundless Mercy she invokes

In dignity she stands upright,

Surrounded by the Sacred Light;

Fearless and with steadfast stride,

With Hope her friend and Faith, her guide

She moves ahead - yes, future-minded,

Of Joys to come she is reminded

And when one day she’s epitaphed,

Her legacy will be: “She laughed”

I think you mean Proverbs 31:25 "She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come." Psalm 31 only has 24 verses ;)
You did a blessed thing with that verse. I absolutely love it, Rita! Your gift for natural rhyme and smooth rhythm are a delight as you lift up admirable and desirable inner qualities of a woman. I honestly think your poem could be inserted in there somewhere without harm. ;) glad I caught this one .. don't know how I missed it!

Thank you, SG
and there is just Nothing like a good laugh...it reminds us how much we need a sense of humor...especially in awful times like these.

Those two words of the Psalm - “She laughs” - are on a wall hanging my mother gave me years ago... read more
that's a cool one. My favorite is psalm 78. It seems to summarize how God took care of his people when they needed it.
