The Years Behind

The Years Behind

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

What I've learned so far

"

The years behind have shared the secret

of getting up

after a fall

They’ve gifted love and laughter,

found the humor

in it all

The years have brought my share of loss

and figured

friend from foe

And taught the delicate balance

of holding on

and letting go

Thank you, Jack. Some things just need to be expressed straight up.
and here i was thinking this was going to be about the posterior of a year...you had me fooled from the outset. all kidding aside though, this is really good, simplicity in depth to the extreme. excellent write.

So awesome, Rita! I always love to read your works because they're all inspiring.
My favorite stanza:
"The years have brought my share of loss
and figured
friend from foe".
Sometimes friendship starts with an embarrassing moment or in an awkward way. But later on, we will discover that the person we meet in such way turns to be our good friend.

Thanks for sharing this. :)
