Daily Bread

Daily Bread

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

A poet's nourishment

"

We wait and watch as seedlings sprout,

stalks reaching toward the heavens

From harvest, time and diligence

provide the proper leaven

We knead the words that germinate

as seeds within our head

And taste the blessed goodness

of our daily bread.

we "knead" the words and we "need" the words...

most definitely..

nice metaphor here...we just have to keep baking those poems--

it is just desserts.

LOl, I always say, if we are gonna talk food, speak Italian!!
I'll take either, the poet's fare or the real grub. We used to have a great Italian bakery in town, and they closed shop, miss that aroma so much, nothing quite like it. Nice one Rita, now I'm hungry!

Chianti, of course! No need to fly - you're just across the bridge!

I don't like to be late!
Damn! Can you do me a favor and write something bad once just so I won't feel inadequate? I love the analogy of writing to baking. And for me at least while bread may feed the body poetry feds the soul. Well done.
