King Charming

King Charming

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

A prince no more...

"

My handsome prince once moved with ease

Now his legs ache from feet to knees

His boyish grin, still so endearing,

Though he’s lost a bit of hearing

That touch of silver in his hair;

I don’t recall that being there

Once majestic in my eyes

His royal title realized

Stood so regal in his youth,

Now we’re both prolonged in tooth

A prince no more, the crown I bring

Is for my sweet and Charming King

Awww. This was written with love...obviously. Your relationship seems very special.

The rhyme and meter make this flow so well. The perfect Rita.

How's the new school year going so far?

Oh how dashing that prince charming once was in the days of his youth. He is still the same grand prince who is now elevated to the reign of King with life experience and age and love to make the new title a reality!
So touching Rita......

Yes, he really is still my handsome prince, all the more sweet with time. :) Thanks, Sheila!
Age has an effect on us all, especially our looks and physical attributes, that is why what is on the inside is most important when finding that loved one.

Absolutely. All the changes over the years actually bring us closer, because we meet them together... read more
The older the fiddle the sweeter the tune, is the case here I reckon Rita ?

A witty dig at the prince's demise, but then you have elevated him to a King so the above statement must ring true! A clever and enjoyable little ditty once more !

Thank you so much, Steel!
This is a sweet rhyming metaphor for the bliss of growing old together. A prince shall grow into a king, as an acorn shall grow into a stately oak.
