How any student could not think you were cool is beyond me. I wish I had teachers like you when I was in school. Love this poem Rita. I can still feel the anticipation of the first day of school and up there, the aroma in the air was always different on that day, I remember that fondly.

Even after all the preparations and the meticulous final details and touches to get ready for the big day we have that little worry and anticipation of what may happen and the expectations too along with the thinking of students about us. A wonderful write...:)
Ha. I hate sending my kids off to school...My youngest is starting is 10th grade year at a new school... It makes me physically sick to think about it. I can only imagine how he feels inside.
Of course, we all put a good face on it.
