Vacuum

Vacuum

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

So, where DOES time go?

"

I’m convinced my vacuum cleaner

has gotten too much power;

it’s not just picking up the dirt,

it’s sucking up the hours.

They must be trapped inside ~

I’ll search each crevice in it

until I find all that lost time,

and reclaim every minute.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful,

a grand cosmic maneuver,

to answer “Where does time go?”

with “It’s just inside the Hoover.”

Blame it on the vacuum cleaner! I love it! Such a fun write, Rita. Your rhyme, as always, is flawless. Lydi**

THat's quite an idea...somewhere a huge vacuum sucking up all our time...if only it could be emptied...

A playful metaphor but substantial as well...I think this one could go both ways thematically...lots of wit and thoughtful imagery...great work my friend :)

Gee, thanks, Jack! Lol!
ROFLOL!!! This is wonderful! Now I'm gonna have to check my own vacuum cleaner... I know my little grand daughter can't possibly be fourteen already! Why, wasn't only last week she was taking her first steps? I won't ask "where did the time go" any more...you've solved the mystery!

You are welcome...:)
Perhaps black holes are the vacuum cleaners of the earth...quite a peculiar but brilliant poem. This has your poetic voice written all over it. I enjoyed it a lot, I wish it were longer though
