Counting raindrops on the window, not seeing beyond that moistened glass. Somewhat sad I think Rita, but at times we need to refect on all that waits before us. Very nicely penned my friend.
A bit like the counting of sheep when we need to sleep...
Distractions without meaning, but finding meaning in the effort.
Sadness yet calm.
I could see well thus windowed view.
Well done.

very pensive.........A shrink might say that this has something to do with your going back to that school, after your long summer break....A 'Doctor' however would say that this is a fine poem

Ah, yes... but a good shrink would go back to my shy and timid days... ;) Thanks, Doc!
This poem sets that rainy day mood. It inspired me to use some of your words to write this tiny gift poem for you which you may keep as your owe. The sound in “count” and “daunt” is the key to this poem:
Raindrops
From my windowpane,
the path beyond was daunting,
hidden by the rain,
so I continued counting
raindrops once again.
