Amazing that we said “I do”

so long ago, before we knew…

 

In youth, our love, it shined like gold ~

it looked so good, but would it hold?

 

Real love is not gold in the least,

the shine, in time, will be decreased

 

Titanium is stronger stuff,

not much sparkle, it handles the tough

 

Once the glitter has departed

love is not gold, but titanium-hearted

Today is our wedding anniversary. I think about how little we knew then, 21 years ago... and how much there is to learn, still...

over time the real relationships survive all the bumps...

gold is like what is in a wedding ring...it is beautiful to look at , but the meaning of love is much deeper than what glitters on the surface.

this write warms my heart....i had no luck with three marriages but admire those who have made it work.
