Carly Faye McRay

Carly Faye McRay

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

“I don’t believe in ghosts!”

said Carly Faye McRay

as she boldly walked

into the haunted house

Upon passing through the doorway,

she felt the air go cold

as a breeze rustled the ruffles

of her blouse

The lights began to flicker

and the chair began to rock;

still not convinced, she kept on

walking through

Next she heard some moans

and the rattling of chains;

she even heard

a clichéd spectral “Boo!”

“Um… I don’t believe in ghosts…”

stammered brave miss Carly Faye,

to the presence of which she

was now aware

“But I just remembered something,

and I really have to go…”

And Carly Faye McRay

flew outta there!
