Shades of Ray Bradbury! Yes, this season tends to make us more aware of the Angel of Death, who is always among us, always just a breath away...
Just what I needed to think about, this morning, waking up in a dang hospital bed...
Don't you know you can almost see his black wings disappearing around the corner in this place? Makes me wonder what might have happened in this room...

Yes, a common thought I have, believe it or not. Not that I am a ghoul, or depressed or anything like that. I just know that it's always there, so I am reminded to make the most of every day! Hmmm... I like the syllable beat - I was going to put "in serenade" instead of "a serenade". Would that work better?

I think just serenade by itself, putting a word in front throws off meter I believe.
