Stitches - in Time

Stitches - in Time

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

One

twist of colored wool

becomes two ~

ten ~

a thousand...

each turn of the crook

a stitch

in time

enduring warmth

borne of

one

twist of colored wool

A poem for the millions of stitches that have flowed from my grandmothers' hands - and my mother's - and yes, even mine...

Indeed it does... Thanks, Michael, for visiting this older piece.
I learned to knit and crochet at my aunt's knee and those were some of my fondest childhood memories. You have written a beautiful poem in tribute to your family's love for crocheting. There is nothing warmer than knitted hand-made mittens and scarfs!

Thank you, Adam.
A very lovely poem about knitting ... but also an analogy for the creative spirit. It takes little steps to realise an idea.

I can remember being a child at my grandmother's feet...holding and sorting her yarns as she stitched and stitched. I was always mesmerized by the transformation from what I held in my hands into what was eventually created. Brought back memories...thank you.

I have similar memories... Thank you, Sarah.
I love the thought of homemade items, be it clothing or other types of things. They are so vintage and can last a lifetime. Each stitch holds a new memory as each item holds a memory also. Great job!

Im fascinated by pictures and art made of cross stitches . The finished product once framed is a site to behold. But the process itself is a very tedious task . Well done Ms Rita for capturing this rare art in your own words .
