Woke up at 3:45am to a series of odd happenings - clocks blinking, cat staring into space, fragments of strange dreams - which prompted me to ask my husband if he was the boogeyman. :)

This is really enjoyable and I like how it takes the good and the bad. I like the way that it shows how one can see beauty, where another does not. Whether its a poem for children or adults, or a creative analogy it works. He could be an unusual man who only the writer understand, or some variation on that, or it could be the idea of someone falling in love with the bogeyman, ambiguity is a great thing.
wow, i absolutely enjoyed reading this, it is a very unique poem and i have never quite imagined the boogeyman as anyone's spouse...that was an interesting twist. Captured my attention from the first line.

Sounds like you were having a nightmare, Rita, and your husband was unlucky enough to be the one there when you awakened - so he became the bogeyman in your somewhat foggy brain. I always enjoy your sense of humor - very clever.

i like the twist in this...the guy has his monster side...but then he can make you smile at the same time.

I enjoyed this! We love whom we love, for all that they are - quirks and everything that makes our heart go pitter-patter. That can be the simplest characteristic or the most outlandish. Fun read!
