CELLPHONECHIC

CELLPHONECHIC

A Poem by SHEEMA HUQ

POEM

"

automated hands,

   manicured politely,

quivering....hesitant,

  prone to slightly fidget

before reaching

for the personal,

high fashion, high tech,

communication gadget,

this gleaming, high priority,

public show accessory,

was handled, as if it were,

a prime life force, as if the very

meaning of life itself, depended upon,

displays of, borderline professional, bravado,

often causing phone induced,

confined, solitary alienation,

shrouded with a suggestive

barrage of condemnations.

the phone.
a portal
a window
through the soul of the user
to the victim of their desires..

the phone
a weapon
of mutual destruction
of the moment
we will never share
in peace...

the phone
an intent to be
with somone better
than you
intimately
in the
aire..

I liked the ryhthm the end of your lines created...the pause effect that went on to give each little outcome. It actually came across as automated as if a machine was speaking which is the affect i think you were aiming at. Good work...and very true content.
