Was a kid who had everything

But maybe I wasn't

Who I was supposed to be at 10

Was a wild child

But maybe I wasn't

Who I was supposed to be at 13

Was a teen becoming

But maybe I wasn't

Who I was supposed to be at 18

Was a smart High School graduate

But maybe I wasn't

Who I was supposed to be at 19

Was an unknown

But maybe I wasn't

Who I am supposed to be at 20

Is what others think I can be

But maybe I'm not

Who I am supposed to be at 25

Is someone with an ideal future 

But maybe I'm not

Who I am supposed to be at 40

Is a responsible adult

But maybe I'm not

Who I am supposed to be

When I'm young

Is this old soul

Who I am supposed to be 

When I'm old

Is someone who can't die yet

Who I am supposed to be all my life

Is this average human being

But maybe I'm just an individual person

I'm 19 right now and I am so scared of growing up. Not knowing who I am and other concerns. Love the poem and I think it shows the fear we all, somehow, have when we are supposed to be growing up.
