Anna

Anna

A Poem by Silhouettic
"

You never made it off the train.

"
The bus came late that day
So you thought you would catch the train
Your bags were packed
And you were running away,
Anna.

The money you saved
was just enough for a ticket
If only you had come up short.
Then you would be safe,
Anna.

Alone you sat by the window
Watching your home fade
Never did you think you would see it again,
too bad that you were right,
Anna.

It was midnight as you lay asleep
When two men boarded
They spied you’re pretty face alone
There was no one to help you,
Anna.

You only wished to get away
Not fall back into the hurt
That night you did not get off the train
But to my door a knock would come,
Anna.

I was certain it would be you
Instead I found I was wrong.
You had run away again
And would never come back home,
Anna.

They never found the Angel killers
At least they will never have wings
And now I can only read your name carved in stone
Surrounded by roses, a beautiful name it is,
Anna.

Author's Note

Silhouettic
First of all, not a true story even though the genre suggests it's a biography or memoir, but this was the closest thing I could get to what kind of genre it actually is, this site seems to lack a few kinds of genre that would come in handy. Anyways, enjoy!
