Meeting at Midnight

Meeting at Midnight

A Poem by Suhd
"

Inspired from Robert Browning's Poem

"
The overwhelming dread seen and felt
The same that Helen of Troy oft feared,
The distant gongs of midnight donged
While waiting for the pointy prow.
With mischief in her bosom bored
she left and dropped the epistle behind

As her feet through the fields hurried
into an old fashioned farm and waited,
Before old age could dribble through her dreadlocks,
A faint knock at the pane and calling
of her name in a hushed voice, she lighted
The candle and the two hearts lit with it.

A little mischief in your poem, can you feel? ;)
Skip that! You bloomed something romantically amazing that proves you're well inspired...The line bout Troy gave it more imaginary visuals to understand the poem well...
However, this one's a great job done by you...Thanks for sharing Suhd :)

Thank you Rosalee :)
This is a good poem that speaks romance and love. The words are well-chosen and very powerful. The lines flow like a water fountain, each portrays vivid pictures. It takes a good poet to write a very creative piece like this one. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Rachid for taking out time reading n reviewing it. And I'm flattered.
This is a very beautiful, romantic poem. I like the last few verses most. But the past tense of light (to light something) is "lit." However, I enjoyed reading this. It flows well, and has these soft images.

Ah, I understand. I saw the word "candle" and assumed. Pardon me, my mistake.
