Fill my thirst

Fill my thirst

A Poem by Sunya
"

Tell me if the desert asks for a glass of water

"
years have passed,
since life showed its face,
the search for life,
still exploring through space,

soul has passed,
since unfound past,
filling its desires,
bits from the vast,

no gold shines enough,
to fill this thirst,
no woman smiles enough,
to fill this thirst,
no wound has the pain,
to fill this thirst,
no cloud holds the rain,
to fill this thirst.

how long shall the legs run,
to fill this thirst,
how much shall the love burn,
to fill this thirst,

drop by drop,
we satisfy our thirst,
clinging to misery,
we beg for some more drops,

no wine loosens,
this chain of confusion,
of dreams enlivened,
and fears guilt-ridden,

many died before,
filling their thirst,
many left the shore,
after running alot,

death waits for the heart,
still thirsty for more,
life waits for the heart,
that is thirsty no more...

This is beautiful Sunya!

I liked every line here....it's so deep, the ending left me in quiet awe.

"death waits for the heart,
still thirsty for more,
life waits for the heart,
that is thirsty no more..." it is brimming with wisdom!

This world is indeed very thirsty...when are we ever gonna quench it?

Thanks for sharing! :)

Reads to me as never being satisfied, we should live in each moment, and not be looking for the next best thing to quench our thirst and satisfy our hunger. Excellent Sunya.
