A Blue Jean Sky

A Blue Jean Sky

A Poem by SyberRose
"

Painting is called square dance.

"

The sky is a corn flower blue
It was once a turbulent storm,
but time lasso’s a new day
with a sienna smile
upon the lips of the morn.

Yellows roses promenade
in their skirts of lemonade
as bees in yellow jackets dosey doe.

The sun comes over the mountain
just a dancing in the fountains
skipping like a child in the rain...
In a blue jean sky
the morning taste's of apple pie
as winds strut along like John Wayne.

The images in this poem are wonderful, and even more so because they're original. (Roses wearing lemonade skirts) You describe a scene of bright morning after a nighttime storm, and do so in a way that draws upon home-y elements of the country. I really liked it!

Thank you Nienor...I'm glad you liked this piece...thanks for peeking in tonight...Rose:)
Well I never tasted an apple pie morning, but I'm sure it must be delicious. I love the light heartedness of this work. It's not dark and dreary, nor is it syrupy sweet all drippy with sticky like candy. It's just right. Thank you for making a great day.

Thank you very much for taking time to comment today...Rose:)
I loved the image you painted in the second stanza. So vivid and at the same time so light hearted. All of the word choices flirted at the American southwest so ending with the second best cowboy star of all time was a clever choice.
Now if you had said Randolph Scott then it would have been magnificent rather than merely damn good.

This gave me a wonderful smile at the end.. who doesn't love John Wayne's strut! I love all of the dance imagery and the feeling of a day on the farm and a dance in the barn.
