A Blue Jean Sky

A Blue Jean Sky

A Poem by SyberRose
"

Painting is called square dance.

"

The sky is a corn flower blue
It was once a turbulent storm,
but time lasso’s a new day
with a sienna smile
upon the lips of the morn.

Yellows roses promenade
in their skirts of lemonade
as bees in yellow jackets dosey doe.

The sun comes over the mountain
just a dancing in the fountains
skipping like a child in the rain...
In a blue jean sky
the morning taste's of apple pie
as winds strut along like John Wayne.

Really, really enjoy all the color imagery in this one. You've used just enough to keep things vibrant, but not so much that the readers are blinded by it. The idea of a "corn flower" sky is quite enchanting...not something I'm used to seeing. I also enjoyed "the morning taste's of apple pie" -- immediate savory response. Very sensory is this piece...and the last line was quite clever; that lilting strut of John Wayne is unmistakable.

Thank you Muse...glad you enjoyed this piece...Rose :)
A down home happy uplifting write. The imagery is splendid, the personification adorable. Could be the basis for a children's story! I had a feeling of the 50's reading this. Clean innocent fun...and, yes, John Wayne would be happy! :) Lydi**

OMG I really want to live here. The picture you have painted with you're words Rose, its gorgeous. The witty big-leggy reference is funny and it just frills the edges of a beautiful write.
Is this your view Rose - is this VA?

Hi Rose. A very good title that suits the theme of your poem. A lovely write about the sky and the beauty of sunshine as it showers its magic on a new day. Imagery is good as are the descriptives. You paint a delightful picture that any reader can appreciate and see in their mind's eye. Flow is good; line to line transition and breaks are done well. Nice rhythm. Very nice use of metaphor. I especially like - "time lasson's a new day"; nice use of personification - "the llps of the morn" - and nice use of simile - the sun "skipping like a child in the rain" - simply beautiful and creative. Lovely depth of feeling. Excellent closing lines. Well penned. Write on!

Wow, neat coincidence. My last name also is Rose. Small world.
I love your color images here, and that last line - you knew you'd be making people smile with this one! This piece describes the sky around here recently - yesterday, steely and stormy; today, sunshine in that "blue jean" sky... Love it!
