Tempest

Tempest

A Poem by Tania Leigh
"

The weather inside is frightful

"

Rain drops falling rhythmically wash away my salty tears,

and gusts of wind graciously conceal my desperate cries.

Booming thunder drawing near forestalls my many fears as

lightning lifts away my pain then tears through troubled skies.

Darkness cloaks my worries and banishes them to the night,

but they will find their way to me before the break of dawn.

If the comfort I seek from the storm feels so safe and right,

why does the tempest within me feel perilously wrong?

The darkness of the storm without will blow away, what will become of the tempest within?

We all have our inner storms and sometimes is easier to ignore them and enjoy the external battle. This works really well - just where the external storm stops and the internal tempest begins is a matter of opinion. The font even accentuates the flow of words

Great job

This is very nice. The font is perfect. It helps to set the mood for me. It is pretty and fluid. The questioning at the end is telling it's own tale. The comfort you seek is not outward but needs to be found from within. The question at the end tells me you have not found it yet. All of the outward pieces are in place but your heart is still unsettled.

There's nothing wrong with having that kind of feelings. We all have the need to take a break away from the pains and have the perfect peaceful moment. But, I've always thought the rain in the dark was the perfect getaway, so you got it right.

This is a really great writing and I loved the font to match the writing as well...
