Sing Yourself to Sleep

Sing Yourself to Sleep

A Poem by Kiara

She sings along to all of her songs

To lift the weight of the world from her shoulders.

When she sings, there are no wrongs.

There is no pain to drown her.

All day, she longs,

Only to sing her pain and troubles away.

Now she finds less comfort when she sings

And she dwells more on her pain.

She lies in bed thinking terrible things,

Sometimes wishing she was dead.

Would she be carried away on angel wings?

Or would she spend her eternity in Hell?

Now she sings not at all

As they lower her into the ground.

She followed that call,

Slitting her wrists for some peace.

Her silence echoes along the halls,

Never again to be flooded with her warm song.

A dark piece, this speaks to me of someone who is all alone in this life. Her songs and her music mean everything to her. When she feels that nobody is listening or understands she decides to let go.. A powerful piece with the thought of her voice gone from her songs forever....

This is part skill...and part sad as hell! Well done. I just hope these feelings of death aren't too real for you? If they are, then I hope you can feel this site to be an outlet and a help.

Some let the dark OUT with their works... some let it IN... It's hard to be what you don't know and harder to be what others want. A lot of thoughts flow with this one.
